Simple Oven Baked Chicken Breast

Chicken is awesome, anyone who disagrees is lying to you. It’s perfect for gym-rats, college kids or people on diets. This featured recipe on is a simple and easy way to cook juicy chicken!

    Preheat convection oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

  2. Rub chicken breasts with olive oil and sprinkle both sides with salt. Place chicken in a broiler pan with tinfoil underneath.

3. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Flip chicken and cook until no longer pink in the centre and the juices run clear, about 15 minutes more. If available, an instant-read thermometer inserted into the centre should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).


Shak’s Tips: Don’t be afraid of salt! The chicken breasts are thick and need to be well seasoned — there should be a light layer of salt across the surface of the chicken, with tiny gaps in between. Coat generously in smoked paprika, it gives a great colour and taste; also add ground black pepper, fresh garlic or garlic powder and a little orange zest. Finish with parsley out of the oven.

The great thing about this recipe is you can cook a few breasts and spread them across different meals. Cooked chicken is good for about 3-4 days in the fridge, so treat yourself to a chicken with rice one day and a chicken caeser wrap the next!
